Setfords has been shortlisted for UK Law Firm of the Year, Business Services Team of the Year and Legal Technology Team of the Year at the Legal Business Awards 2026.
The recognition spans the firm as a whole, the business services team supporting its consultant lawyers and the technology function it has built in-house. Setfords is the only platform law firm represented across the three categories.
UK Law Firm of the Year
Setfords has been shortlisted for the headline UK Law Firm of the Year award following a year in which revenue grew organically by 35% to £67.7m.
During the year, the firm served more than 30,000 clients across property, family, private client, employment, corporate and disputes work.
Setfords is shortlisted alongside firms including Addleshaw Goddard, Brabners, Brodies, Macfarlanes, Mills & Reeve, Pinsent Masons, Stephenson Harwood, Thorntons and TLT.
Business Services Team of the Year
The Business Services Team of the Year nomination recognises the team supporting Setfords’ nationwide platform of consultant lawyers.
Secretarial, compliance, marketing, accounts, business development and technology support are provided centrally as part of the firm’s model.
In 2025, the business development function generated 26% of the firm’s matter intake, representing £18.4m of work, and passed more than 23,000 leads to consultants. The firm’s lawyer wellbeing department, the first of its kind in platform law, also delivered more than 40 coaching and pastoral events.
Setfords is shortlisted alongside firms including Akin, Browne Jacobson, Clifford Chance, DAC Beachcroft, Gowling WLG, Howard Kennedy, Stewarts and Weightmans.
Legal Technology Team of the Year
Two years ago, Setfords’ technology team numbered eight. Today, more than 30 specialists across software engineering, data, AI, security and user experience work within a dedicated group company, Setfords Technology Solutions Limited.
In April 2026, the team launched Halo, an in-house legal intelligence platform combining case, accounts and practice management. Over a single weekend, the firm migrated millions of documents and all 650 consultant lawyers onto the platform in the largest technology programme in its history.
Halo sits alongside Helix, the firm’s structured data foundation, providing a governed environment through which Setfords can introduce automation and AI into lawyers’ existing workflows.
Setfords is shortlisted alongside firms including Ashurst, Eversheds Sutherland, Freshfields, Goodwin, Macfarlanes, Osborne Clarke, Shoosmiths and TLT.
Guy and Chris Setford, co-CEOs of Setfords, said:
“To be shortlisted in three categories – for the firm as a whole, our business services team and our technology team – tells a bigger story than any single nomination.
“It reflects how the different parts of our platform work together to support our consultants and deliver a better service to clients.”
