What’s Included in Your Fee Split

Bringing Your Own Paralegal or Assistant
You are also welcome to hire your own paralegal or assistant if you feel you need additional support on a full or part-time basis. There are three important points to be aware of if you choose to do this:
- Employment: your paralegal or assistant must be employed by you, not by Setfords.
- Payment: their salary is paid from your share of the fee split.
- Scope of work: only Setfords consultants are permitted to run matters. All your assistant’s work must be supervised by you, even if they are themselves qualified.
This gives you the flexibility to build the support structure that works best for your practice, while keeping the employment arrangement clear and straightforward.
