Work, wherever the road takes you
Since joining Setfords, I’ve been able to combine building my legal practice with seeing a lot more of the world. My partner and I bought a converted van and travelled through Europe, as well as spending time in Sri Lanka and Thailand, working remotely from wherever we were.
We’d work from the van, campsites, Airbnb’s and co-working spaces during the day, then spend our evenings and weekends exploring. For me, that’s what consultancy is about: having the freedom to build a busy practice around my clients, while still having the flexibility to live life beyond work.

Making memories with family
Having the flexibility of consultancy has meant I can make memories with my children without worrying about childcare throughout their holidays. I’m not tied to a 9–5 office, so I can take my laptop and phone wherever I go. This summer, I’ve even exchanged contracts for clients from a beach and a campsite!

I spent the summer in Barcelona, where I was able to work from the rooftop of my hotel, enjoying both the climate and a change of scenery.
