One of the realities of consultancy is that taking time off requires a bit more planning than in a traditional employed role. The good news is that at Setfords, you have several options.
Your Options for Holiday Cover
Inform your clients in advance – For some practice areas, the simplest option is to let your clients know the dates you’ll be away and that you’ll respond on your return. This won’t be feasible for every area of law, but it works well where matters allow for a short pause.
Engage another consultant for paid cover – You can arrange for another consultant to cover your practice while you’re away. Please note that Setfords does not contribute to holiday cover costs, so this would be paid from your own arrangements.
Holiday swap with another consultant – A popular option among our consultants is a holiday swap, where you cover another consultant’s practice during their holiday, and they return the favour during yours. This is usually done at no charge between the consultants involved.
Take your work with you – Some consultants choose to work while they’re away. As long as your destination is on our approved list of locations from which you’re permitted to work, this is a perfectly viable option.
